Tacos have been a staple for many years, and unfortunately most people have gotten away from making them at home, for the convenience of fast food. Fish tacos are easy and healthier than using ground beef and with this easy peasy recipe, these delicious tacos can be dinner tonight.
Easy Peasy Fish Tacos
Two Fish Filets (we recommend Cod or Tilapia ) | Panco Bread Crumbs | 1 Egg | Olive oil | Whole Wheat Tortillas | Sweet and Sour Sauce | Hot sauce ( we use Louisiana hot sauce) |Cabbage, Carrots. Mayo, Vinegar and Sugar to make Cole Slaw, or use your favorite pre-made
To make simple cole slaw, simply slice and shred cabbage, use peeler to add carrots to the cabbage. In a separate cup add 1/2 cup mayonnaise 3 Tablespoons Vinegar and 1 tsp sugar. Mix well and taste, add more Vinegar until you get that sweet/sour taste. Mix into cabbage/carrot mixture. Refrigerate.
To make the sauce, mix sweet and sour sauce in a small cup, and add hot sauce to taste. We like it to just have a little ‘kick’ of heat.
Take the fish filet and cut them into 1 inch strips. Dip in beaten egg, then press panco into the fish. Heat frying pan with two tablespoons of olive oil, fish should sizzle when placed into the hot pan. Brown both sides, approx. 4 minutes per side.
Take the tortilla, add cole slaw, the fish, and the sauce….roll up and enjoy!
