Eating Healthy Doesn’t Have to Hurt! 3 Breakfast Idea’s!

Whether one is dieting or just trying to make a change to eat healthier, these recipes will change how you think about eating. Recipes that are good for you are often tasteless, or they want so many unusual spices added to the food that it is an effort in patience just trying to find the ingredients.

First off, lets kick start that metabolism first thing in the morning with a small cup of hot water with lemon juice. The photo below depicts the amount of lemon water that is sufficient by comparing it to a standard coffee mug.

Apple-Raisin-OatmealNot Your Mama’s Oatmeal –  Take steel cut oats and cook the amount as appropriate to ones appetite, now the fun part. Dice up a 1/2 of an apple, whatever type is on hand. Add the apples to the cooked oatmeal and throw in some raisins or craisins. Now add some sugar free syrup, approx. 2 Tablespoons, and a couple of dashes of cinnamon, however everyone’s taste is different and all these ingredients can be adjusted accordingly. Now enjoy this maple flavored power breakfast without any guilt.

 

Eggs Turned Spanish – Sometimes one just wants good old eggs for breakfast and here is a super easy way to mix it up. Take 1 egg and 2 egg whites, salt, pepper, 1 tablespoon of Olive oil, 1/4 cup diced tomatoes 2 tablespoons of diced onions, and 2 tablespoons fat free shredded cheese.

Whisk the eggs and egg whites together, add the olive oil to the pan and pour the eggs in. This should cook in about 30 seconds……distribute the tomatoes and onions salt and pepper and shredded cheese and gently fold the eggs over onto itself, cover and cook approximately 1 minute, then enjoy.

scramble-with-chicken-700x350_xnvh3mGarbage Eggs – Don’t go to the store to find the perfect ingredients for a yummy egg dish. Just take any of ones healthy left overs and add to the eggs. For instance, a left over pc of baked chicken or turkey meatloaf can be easily diced up and thrown in with eggs or egg whites, add some onions, or peppers, broccoli or whatever veggie may be on hand, a little fat free or reduced fat cheese, scramble and gobble it up for a protein packed start to your day!
